A Park Built Around Nature
Opened in 1998, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the largest theme park in the world by area. At its heart stands the iconic Tree of Life, a towering artificial baobab carved with hundreds of animal figures. It’s both a visual centerpiece and a symbol of the park’s core message: respect for all living things.
Unlike traditional theme parks, Animal Kingdom is deeply rooted in wildlife conservation. The park is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is home to thousands of animals representing hundreds of species.
Explore Pandora – The World of Avatar
One of the most breathtaking lands is Pandora – The World of Avatar, inspired by James Cameron’s film Avatar. Floating mountains soar overhead, bioluminescent plants glow at night, and immersive rides transport guests to another planet.
The highlight is Avatar Flight of Passage, a thrilling 3D experience that simulates riding a banshee across Pandora’s dramatic landscapes. It’s often considered one of the best attractions in all of Walt Disney World.
Journey Through Africa and Asia
In the Africa section, Kilimanjaro Safaris takes visitors on an open-air vehicle through a sprawling savanna populated by giraffes, zebras, elephants, and lions. No two rides are the same, as animals roam freely across the landscape.
Over in Asia, Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain delivers high-speed thrills and a close encounter with the mythical Yeti. The detailed Himalayan theming makes it as visually stunning as it is exhilarating.
Dino Adventures & Family Fun
In DinoLand U.S.A., guests can travel back in time on DINOSAUR, a fast-paced ride through a prehistoric world filled with animatronic creatures. Families with younger children can enjoy gentler attractions and interactive experiences throughout the park.
